I suppose we have a 'dog in the fight' here and as such some are going to be blinded by their claret and blue tinted glasses. If we're all totally honest Lanzini dived. We'd be fucking livid if it had happened against us.
Kane and Alli both deserve bans for their tackles..

How about this:
Isn't it irrelevant whether Lanzini was already on his way down Pieters clattered into him eventually so it was a foul in the penalty area and therefore a penalty.
The question is was he trying to con the refereee? That is the doubt m'lud!

It was a dive.
Lanzini was going down all on his own and contact happened after that.
He was an idiot as all had to was take one more step and Peters would have clattered him anyway rather than doing the dying swan act.
It is a weird one in that it was both a dive and a definite penalty as the dive failed to avoid to defender who sort of barged him over with his hip in any case.

Contact was after he has already dived.

He won’t get done for a dive because of the contact. It’s worth remembering that the contact was a full on, ill timed lunge and not a harmless brush. Lucky really, because he was on the way down regardless. The challenge was the worst thing about this.

Northern, you and Pee Wee seem to be trying to re right history!!! Peters slide tackled in his own box, made contact/caught Lanzini with his trailing leg, the fact Lanzini was going over is irrelevant!! IF Peters had pulled out of the tackle, and no contact was made YES dive and banning. To make up there was no contact is just plan wrong, and a bit stupid!!

If I saw someone coming at me to tackle, I'd do what I always done and leave the cunt on his arse before putting the ball in the net, or let him clatter me if that's wasn't possible, as that is how football is meant to be played - or at least it was when I was growing up.
If anyone had dived in the Dagenham league I played in, they'd be in an ambulance 10 minutes later!

If you've played decent level football ask your self this:
If you were in full running flight and you see a defender going to ground heading for your legs what would you do?
Just carry on and let him maim you.

If that was against us there would be the biggest meltdown ever on here... and rightly so... . it was as blatant bit of diving as you will see... when you have our managers only defence saying it was fatigue you know it's a done deal... he'll get charged... take the ban/fine and hopefully he'll learn... if not he's a cunt i'm afraid in my eyes... just the same as all the other cheaters

I hate 'What aboutism'.
When you're in the wrong to try and justify it with 'yeah but what about....' to try and deflect is pathetic.
Lanzini dived, deserves a ban and hopefully he'll get one and learn not to do it again. It really doesn't matter what the referee got wrong in the other games or what some Tottenham thugs got away with. It doesn't lessen what Lanzini did.
As Ali and Kane were both dealt with (albeit lightly) at the time, then I don't think they can have their punishment extended can they?
